Baby Quilt
Juliet and I are both friends with an awesome couple. Recently they found out they are expecting a baby. We got to work straight away, not knowing if it was a boy or girl allowed us to use both pink and blue. Once we knew it was going to be a boy we were able to chose our binding and get it finished. With time to spare....roll on July. It was so awesome to see baby Ethan wrapped in his quilt.

Cherry Pip Bag
Made these one day a little while ago with my friend Juliet. She wanted me to show her how to sew and these seemed a pretty good place to start. They can be used in the microwave, heated for 1 minute 30 seconds they can sooth all your aches and pains away. They hold the heat really well. The most important thing to remember when making these is that both the fabric and the thread used have to be 100% cotton. Flax seed can be used as an alternative to cherry pips.

E-Reader Pouch
I found this awesome cowboy hat fabric in the clearance section at hobby lobby and thought it was perfect to make my dad a pouch for his E-reader. I hand quilted around each hat and added a zipper.

Kitchen Runner
I made this runner for my dear friend Sandra. I have made a few things for her kitchen using this selection of fabric. I have been saving the remnants each time to make something else so that it all matches. On this occasion I wanted to make something to sit on her island.
I used heat resistant batting so that hot things can be put on it safely. I hand sewed it also so I could take it anywhere with me while I was making it. I have to say this is my favorite thing to do these days. It looked pretty cool when finished and Sandra loved it.

Hand Sewn Quilt
Last year I bought a couple of quilt kits on clearance from Jo-Ann's. My plan when I bought them was to make a quilt for my mum. The kit was made up of hexagons, a shape I have never used before. I made the decision to hand sew it. This gave me the added benefit of being able to work on it anywhere.
Made with love from start to finish. I gave it to my mum for her birthday in January and she loves it and it is getting lots of use.

Scrapbook Wedding Page
I made this for my niece and her husband and sent it to them for Christmas. I've been wanting to make this for a while but paper crafts have kind of been put on a back burner. It was nice to sit down and make something with paper. Hopefully this is the first of many.

From Boy To Girl
While my daughter had her arm in a cast last year we had to find loose fitting shirts with large arm holes to fit her cast through. At the time of year she had her accident most stores were clearing out their summer ware ready for fall/winter which made things a little difficult as we were still having 100 degree weather and the stores had long sleeve tops. I managed to find this sleeveless top in Walmart in the boys section. My daughter being a very girly girl was not impressed. I found some cute ribbon however and put it around the sleeves. she was much happier with it once it had been suitably girlified.

Quick And Easy Invitations
Last year my daughter wanted a summer themed party/sleepover at our house. We had everything planned out for the weekend after her birthday. On her birthday we took her to the American Girl store in Dallas. Little did we know that the very next day she was going to break her elbow while doing gymnastics in our family room. So needless to say the party had to be cancelled. Thankfully she is fully healed now and looking forward to having the birthday party she didn't get this year instead.
blank note cards, stickers and a You're Invited stamp were used to make invitations

Kid Stuff
I have been grabbing small windows of time here and there to teach my daughter some sewing basics. starting with an American Girl craft, a t-shirt bag that she also colored herself and a pouch for her recorder for school. She has quite a steady straight stitch these days. I'm very proud of her.

A Family Of Pillows
You guys may remember the pillow above. I made it for a friends daughter a little while ago. well the family liked it so much I ended up making them one each. It was a very fun project to do and no sewing involved. Here are pictures of two of them and one of the fabric used for the last one. Silly me was in such a rush to give it to my friend I forgot to take a picture. LOL.

Patriotic Carrier Bag Holders
I made a couple more of these carrier bag holders. This time I used some red, white and blue fabric with a patriotic theme. Seemed fitting to show them to you today.

A Scarf of Favorite Colors
I found this remnant at a store a little while ago. I just love the feel of fleece, don't you? it was the perfect size to make my son a scarf, not to mention the fact it has his 2 favorite colors. I find that my son gets a little left out with all the sewing stuff as it is mostly girl stuff. So I made this just for him for his birthday.

Small Drawstring Bag
I made this little bag for my son. When we go out to restaurants he usually has pockets full of toys and things to occupy himself while we are waiting for our food then comes the worry that one day he is going to leave something behind.
He went with me to the craft store so he could pick out the fabric himself. It looks really cool finished. Now I just need to get him to actually use it.

Foot Stool Makeover
A good friend of mine had gotten a secondhand foot stool and needed a new cover for it. I offered to recover it for her so we went out fabric shopping and found a really nice fabric that matched really well with her living room decor.
Once I had taken some measurements and cut out all my pieces, the cover came together fairly quickly. I even had enough of the fabric left to make two matching bolster cushions and a regular cushion cover.
