Easter Wishes

I managed to get some time to start on my Easter cards today before our visitors arrive on Monday. I have quite a few to make but this is what I have so far. I used High Hopes Three Pane Easter stamp. Once I started I seemed to be on a roll and managed to get 6 cards done.

Cardstock is Soft Sky, Pixie Pink and Gable Green. The DP is from Doodlebug Designs. I used my cuttle bug and finished with a yellow (dollar) ribbon.

I have a new set from TAC and Papertrey Ink I want to ink up soon. I hope I get some time in my craft room while our visitors are here.

Thanks for looking

Pieced Cowboy Boot

Well it feels like it has taken forever to finish this card. I knew I wanted to use these cool leather effect cardstock my friend Sonya sent me ages ago for the large boot and the piecing was pretty easy but for the rest of the card I drew a complete blank. It has been very frustrating as I have so many projects to try and do by Monday. But my stubbornness wouldn't let me move onto something else until it was done.

Oh that reminds me; we have family visiting next week so I will probably get little to no time in here to make anything or show you anything once they arrive. Please bare with me as they don't drive and I will need to play chauffeur so I may be quiet while they are here.

Onto the card. I finally settled on Brocade Blue and espresso cardstock. I distressed it a whole bunch and punched out some stars which I added with a large brass brad.

I tried to take a close up pic to show you the texture of the card Sonya sent me but you can't see it very well.

Chasing Candy

I haven't been on here much this week have I? The reason for that is that I have both my kids home on spring break and have had very little time to get in here to even post let alone craft. Not to mention the fact that my eldest baby just turned 10 on Wednesday. Double digits - I'm still in shock. Any way I went for a little itty bitty blog hop around this morning and found some yummy candy up for grabs and thought I would tell you all about it so you can go check it out too. Not to mention the cool cards that all these ladies make I just love to be inspired, don't you? check it out.

Bev has WOJ candy - http://bevscrafts.blogspot.com/

Ila has some candy - http://artfullyila.blogspot.com/

Jackie has WOJ candy - http://jacqui47.blogspot.com/

Cindy is celebrating - http://creationsbycindy2345.blogspot.com/

I haven't finished my blog hopping but have to go out as I have to get my allergy injections done and take the kids to meet daddy for lunch. I may pop back later with a few more if my kids will let me. Happy candy hunting.

Celtic Preparations

I thought seen as I had come very close to missing St. David's Day this year that I would get a head start on next year. I got this lovely House Mouse stamp from Ebay. It's called Gentle Rain and has Muzzy sitting under a daffodil. I thought this was rather fitting as Wales is rather renown for it's rain.

I kept the card pretty simple. I used my Big Top Note and once again made my own punched daffodils. Cardstock used was Real Red, Glorious Green, & Yoyo Yellow. Sorry there's no St. Patty's goodies for you. I'm Welsh not Irish but I may very well be seen wearing green tomorrow as it is my favorite color.

Sewing Project #1 (Cushions)

I finished, I finally finished. This project has been on my to do list for as long as I can remember.I bought the fabric last year and it has been sitting in my cupboard gathering dust. They look really cool on the sofa too and the whole family loves them. Especially Megan because now I can move onto my next task which is to make her beautiful dresses.LOL

I opted to fore go zips as my kids like to hit one another with our cushions. We have had many an owie due to the zip catching someone somewhere. So I worked out how to fold over them and I am so glad it worked first time. I had visions of a piece being inside out and having to undo everything but they worked really well. The fabric had a small fringe along the edges that I used to my advantage.

Only one refill was required on the bobbin and I managed to make 5 cushions in total. *One thing I have noticed while fabric shopping lately is that I really miss my friend Lucy. She is a wealth of knowledge in this department and I miss having her guidance nearby.

Courtney's Closet #33

Well who could resist such a cute looking girl this week. I took a break from my sewing to make this card in time for Libby's challenge this week

Little Courtney looks like she's dancing the flamenco. I just love this picture of her. I was very lucky to find this dollar spot paper from Target in my stash. The flowers look a lot like the ones on her dress.
Cardstock is Tempting Turquoise and Tangerine Tango (that's a lot of T's). I used my Tangerine SU ribbon and the stamp set is Say It With Scallops.

50th Anniversary Card

Here's a little quickie. Hubby's Uncle and Aunt are celebrating 50 years together this month. I got this awesome cake sticker at Archivers. The swirl stamp is from TAC and the sentiment is from Hero Arts. Cardstock is Kiwi Kiss. I used my new Extra Giga punch for the large scallop circle and my SU one for the 50. I was hoping to make it in their wedding colors but short of asking them direct no-one else I asked could remember. Well it is 50 years after all. So I settled for using one of my favorites instead. I hope they like it as much as I do.

Tagging Myself

I have been waiting patiently to get this tag but it never came my way. I have been meaning to just go ahead and do it as a few people just said tag yourself instead of naming anyone but as with everything it slipped my mind to do so till now. I am finally picking my 6th picture in my 6th folder to show you a little insight into me.

This was taken in Fredricksburg TX. The picture is of My Dad and us on his one and only trip here to Austin in 2004. My mom is not a keen traveller but my dad is a cowboy at heart so he came over on his own for 4 weeks. We had such an awesome time. The only down side he said was not being able to share his experiences with my mom. He missed her a lot.

After his heart attack last year he has expressed a wish to come over one more time but this time he won't come without my mom and my mom is digging her heals in and saying no. It's frustrating as she has flown to America before. Once to Disney World with my sister and Once to San Fransisco when we were living in California. Keep your fingers crossed we can change her mind.

Well that's my tag and my trip down memory lane. If you don't mind I'm gonna put a couple more pictures from his trip on here cause I really enjoyed looking back at this. Thanks for looking guys.

Oh BTW I have a sneak peak for you...Do you remember ages ago I showed you this fabric swatch. Well I have been playing with my sewing machine and will have the finished thing to show you real soon.

Whiff Of Joy Anniversary Card

I got the Spring Stamp Kit from Whiff of Joy. I know you are all surprised at how long it has taken me to ink it up. Or not if you know me. LOL. But this week My aim was to make a few Anniversary cards for up coming friends and relatives and I just had to ink up these two. They look so cute together.

Cardstock is Pixie Pink and Green Galore. The DP was in my Scraps box so not sure on that one. I used my scallop edge for the sentiment window. Sentiment is Rubber Stampede. I put three brads at the bottom. The fiddliest part was the cutting out of the images.

Archiver's Make & Take

I totally forgot to tell you about this. I went back on Friday February 20th. I guess it slipped my mind. That happens a lot lately. LOL. Anyway here I am and here is a quick picture of what I made. The circle card and the journaling card were free to make. The good times mini album was $10. It was well worth it I think. Plus I got to play with a bind-it-all machine. How much fun are they, huh?

Thanks for dropping by. I hope to have something new for you very soon.

Happy St. David's Day

Gan feddwl amdanoch ar ddydd gŵyl Dewi Sant

Thinking of you on Saint David's Day
This is a card I made to send to both my parents and hubby's parents. Sorry for the poor quality but I literally took the picture and then shoved it into an envelope and rushed it to the mailbox. Hopefully it got there in time.
The picture is of my daughter dressed in a welsh lady costume that her nanna sent her. I used traditional welsh colors. I am especially proud of the daffodil which I made myself using various punches and a little button brad.
Thanks for looking, have a wonderful day.
